GOOD NEWS!   Hennrietta has flourished under Richard's care. She now weighs in at 4lbs and appears to be about 5 yrs old.  She is the most lovable and sweetest little girl!!  The bond and attachment that he has towards this little girl now is remarkable!

Can You Spare Some Cash?

Funds are needed for surgery to help this little abandoned Yorkie
DUE TO COMPLICATIONS, HENNY'S BILL HAS JUMPED TO OVER $2,200!
we are about $200 short of our new goal

My name is Hennrietta and I am 5 (?) years old.

** THIRD TIME WAS A CHARM **

Hennrietta had a successful surgery on Monday, September 27, 2004! The large bladder stone was removed, she was spayed and had a dental. She came through the surgery just fine and was even able to go home on Tuesday evening. Hennrietta is now on her way to a healthy and happy life with her new forever home!

Thank you everyone from Richard and Henny!!!! Your support and prayers are very much appreciated.

** SURGERY UPDATE **

Henny's surgery was originally scheduled for Thursday the 23rd.  However, her blood pressure was very high and they felt that it would be better if the surgery was postponed for a day to allow her to calm down.  She was re-evaluated this morning and everything was scheduled to go forward.  She was last on the surgery roster today, and when Dr. Donna began to sedate her Henny went into shock.  The surgical procedure was IMMEDIATELY terminated in order to prevent the unthinkable.  The general consensus of Dr. Donna and Dr. Moore (Rambo's two main doctors as well!) is that Henny needs a little more time to strengthen before attempting the surgery.  She was sent home to rest with Richard this weekend (although how much rest will us South Floridians get with a hurricane coming our way?) and she will be re-evaluated on Monday the 27th.

Her new owner, Richard, has spent nearly $2,000 already on her care and now must face an additional $1,800 for her much needed surgery.  Unfortunately, he just does not have the funds.  Because of my love for Yorkies, Dr. Schwartz called me to see if any funding assistance was available. Richard has already contacted two agencies but was not able to receive any assistance as they are already strapped due to Hurricanes Charley and Frances. Since he has depleted his personal resources I am reaching out to anyone who would like to help Hennrietta have a happy and healthy life.  Any generosity would be greatly appreciated.

Around the 1st of July, Hennrietta was found abandoned in the woods by a wonderful gentleman named Richard who lives in Florida.  While Richard was jogging he found Hennrietta in a pile of leaves.  He bent down to pick her up thinking she was near death. She was extremely weak and not able to stand on her own. She was filthy, matted, severely malnourished and one eye was completely closed by a thick yellow crust - obviously neglected by someone.  He took her home to bathe and feed her.  Richard took her to a professional groomer who, despite several attempts to save her beautiful Yorkie coat, had to shave her down completely as she was just too matted.  Richard then took Hennrietta to the Animal Eye Specialty Clinic for evaluation.  Dr. Susan Carastro feels the eye can be saved; he now applies drops and creams three times a day for the next six weeks in hopes the eye can heal itself.  Richard was told that someone or something had poked Hennrietta's eye so deeply that it is still possible she may lose her eye.

The next step was to visit Coral Springs Animal Hospital and Dr. Donna Schwartz.  She discovered that Hennrietta has serious dental issues, along with a very large bladder stone that is constantly infected, causing her severe pain and discomfort.

Hennrietta is in desperate need of surgery to remove this bladder stone in addition to a dental and spay.
